    We started back in 2013 and the Sweet Home, OR paper ran a story about us. It pretty much sums us up. We have made a few changes along the way but the goal remains the same.

WHO OR WHAT ARE WE?

We are a group of metal detector enthusiasts which is a fancy way of saying treasure hunters. Not all treasure is gold and silver however, some treasure is located in history.

The club was founded in 2013 in Sweet Home, Oregon by a group of friends wanting to not only get together and share our experiences but also help our local community.

WHAT KIND OF THINGS DOES THE CLUB DO?

We get together on the third Wednesday of every month in the banquet room at Pioneer Villa for dinner and our monthly meeting. We usually start showing up at 5:30pm and the meeting starts at 6:00pm.

Beyond that we try and get together regularly to go out and metal detect. We hit a multitude of public and private places throughout the valley and several times a year we travel for camping and multi-day trips to other parts of the State, Country and World.

We also host an annual Silver Hunt in June, to kind of kick off the warmer months. It is a seeded hunt open to the public.

WHY DO YOU CHARGE MONEY TO JOIN?

To help pay for the fuel on our private jet! <Insert Laugh Here>

In reality, the money goes to administrative fees like this website, supplies for our meetings and it helps fund our Silver Hunt. A majority of the money we raise in membership dues and various other activities throughout the year goes directly to our local charity of choice (The Kids Food Pak).

Seriously like 98% gets donated, we run a lean ship so we can give as much as possible. No one gets paid, no one takes a dime. We all give, in time and money.

DO I NEED A "GOOD" METAL DETECTOR TO JOIN?

No, no and no! You could join with a magnet for all we care. We have always welcomed new people to the sport to join our club. What better way to figure out how to do something than with a group of people who do that very same thing.

I mean if you ever wanted to know about any particular thing about history, or digging holes in the ground just ask a detectorist... they won't shut up about it! Just don't ask them about their secret permissions ;-)

CAN MY FAMILY JOIN?

YES! 100%! In fact you even get a discount on each family members membership... That was a mouth full, but seriously this is a family sport.

Young kids to old folks and everyone in between! We even have a kids only hunt at our annual Silver Hunt!
